“I’m not going to quit cold calling until I get kicked out of at least one building,” I stated boldly to my sales manager over my cell phone as I sat in my truck in Novato, nursing a hot cup of Pike Place Roast from Starbucks. It was 7:30am, and I was getting myself amped up for my daily routine of cold calling. I was a new sales rep trying to build a territory for myself, and still figuring out what it would take to hit my monthly sales quota, which always seemed so elusive. When my previous levels of prospecting had not yielded the desired results, I assumed more work, more cold calling, more face-time in front of more decision makers was the key. I was wrong.
Buy Local? Maybe...

Often we use this as a reason to encourage others to do business with us instead of patronizing large corporations based elsewhere. But why is this a valid reason for buying from me?
