Dell

Dell was founded in 1984 by Michael Dell on a simple concept: by selling computer systems directly to customers, we could best understand their needs and efficiently provide the most effective computing solutions to meet those needs. Our evolving business strategy combines our revolutionary direct customer model with new distribution channels to reach commercial customers and individual consumers around the world.
Despite industry skepticism, in 1996 Dell enters the server market with a success that revitalized the company and brought it one step closer to becoming a one-source provider for all of an organization’s technology products.
In November of 2007 Dell acquired data storage solutions provider EqualLogic for $1.4 billion. EqualLogic makes internet focused data-storage network systems that use proprietary software “designed to simplify how businesses store and manage data.” EqualLogic offers virtualization solutions and is a minor partner in VMWare.
Dell EqualLogic PS Series SANs are ideal for the new age of Internet-based applications, which demand unpredictable increases in storage capacity while continuously serving up uninterrupted access to data. PS Series SANs offers a dynamic response to the unique demands of each application, learning and adapting to its behavior and adapting to shifting workloads to help ensure responsiveness and consistent uptime.
